The Tour

The tour begins inside your hotel lobby where your guide will explain to you the paths of this tour. You will then be taken to the start point to begin your walking tour of Athens. Begin at the House of the Greek parliament and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and watch the changing of the guards. Your tour then continues towards the National Gardens passing by the Anglican church of St Paul and on to the beautiful neoclassical Zappeion Hall, in front of which tower the surviving columns of the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch, both of which you will have an opportunity to visit. From there you enter the famous Plaka district where you see the portrait of Melina Merkouri. After we head towards the beautiful pedestrian walk way of Dionyssiou Areopagitou until we reach the Acropolis where we will begin our ascent while taking in the spectacular views of the city below. Your guide will give you a detailed explanation into the glorious monuments of the Acropolis such as the Parthenon, Erection, Propylaia, Nike Temple and the surrounding monuments (such as Dionysus sanctuary, Philopappos Hill, Mars Hill, Observatory, Pnyx Hill, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Ancient Agora).

The Tour

We leave by the coastal road and travel along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea, and enjoy a short stop here. Then it's on to Mycenae, the Homeric city of the Atreides. Here we visit the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls and the Royal Tombs along with other places of interest. Then we depart for Nafplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamadi Fortress. Finally we continue to Epidauros to visit the Theatre which dates back to the 4th century B.C. and which is famous for its astonishing acoustics. We will return to Athens by the National road, connecting Epidauros with Corinth.
