New Zealand

It's always a great time for a New Zealand adventure!  From mammoth national parks to world-class skiing, some of the most stunning scenery on Earth, and vibrant cities, a holiday in New Zealand can be easy-going or action-packed, and definitely epic.  Discover ancient forests, volcanic landscapes, and beautiful coastlines all in one day!  Auckland, its capital is set between two sparkling harbours and always teeming with boating activities.  Regularly voted as one of the world's most liveable cities, Auckland has become very multicultural, which is reflected in its dynamic culinary scene. Explore the many shops, museums, parks, and clubs, or take a ferry ride to Devonport or Waiheke. Enjoy a swim at one of the gem-like Herne Bay beaches or Kayak or hike to Rangitoto Island. There is a lot to see and do in the largest Polynesian city in the world.

Northland and the Bay of Islands is an area rich in a unique history that binds both Maori and non-Maori people together. Discover historical sites, stories, and artifacts, as well as golden beaches, secluded coves and tranquil harbours. Go Dolphin Watching and cruise the Bay to the Hole in the Rock or drive along 90 Mile Beach and go body boarding down sand dunes. The Waitangi Treaty Grounds is one of New Zealand’s most historical sites and get up close to the ancient mighty kauri tree, also called God of the Forest, on a Tane Mahuta Walk.

The South Island of New Zealand is renowned for its glaciers, lakes, and mountains. It is little wonder why J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved Middle-earth was brought to life here.  Visit the original Hobbiton Movie Set, which was a significant location used for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit film trilogy.  Discover Lake Taupo, which is roughly the size of Singapore, and famous for its trout fishing. The lake was created by a huge volcanic eruption nearly two thousand years ago. Take a dip in the hot pools or relax with one of the therapeutic spa treatments, and during winter strap on the skates for a bit of ice skating or try some snow tubing.

Christchurch is a fascinating city to stroll around, from the beautiful Botanical Gardens to the Arts Centre and the Avon River winding through the city, and Wellington is one of New Zealand's ultimate urban playgrounds. Recently named "the coolest little capital in the world" by Lonely Planet, Wellington offers a great combination of culture, history, nature, and cuisine. After all, two of Aussies' favourite things are on the list - strong coffee and world-class craft beer.

There is a lot to see and do in New Zealand, whether you hit the road for an unforgettable road trip, or join a tour that includes the North or South Island or the whole caboodle.
