Variety of cultures and religions, as well as three contrasting components of the town from former times are the reason to visit Sarajevo. Baščaršija is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural centre of the city. First, we start with Bascarsija square itself, and its famous fountain called Sebilj and learn the whole story behind it. Later we move on towards Kazandziluk street (Coppersmith's street), burned library - Vijecnica, with a thorough explanation regarding the two distanced fortresses, as well as the Yellow and White bastion. We then learn about a few bridges, including Seher-Cehaja and the Latin bridge. The Latin Bridge is World famous due to one unfortunate event that took place there, the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. We will than continue walking and see the Imperial mosque, the Gazi Husref Bey’s mosque, Clock tower and a few other must see spots not to be missed.

In afternoon we drive to Vrelo Bosne. Vrelo Bosne is a spring of the river of the same name and it is one of the most famous landmarks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vrelo Bosne is located on the outskirts of Sarajevo, near Ilidza, below the slopes of mountains Igman and Bjelasnica. The spring of this river is certainly one of the most famous scenes of natural beauty in the region. It consists of several small islands, connected with bridges over numerous small streams. Return to hotel in Sarajevo where you'll stay overnight.

Day 3: Olympic mountains - Trebević Mountain - Bjelašnica Mountain

Today we discover the Olympic mountains, where the winter Olympic games were held in 1984. Our first stop is Trebević Mountain, connected to Sarajevo with a cable car, destroyed during the war in the 90's and completely renovated in 2018. We'll enjoy beautiful panoramic views from the mountain, while walking around the plateau. Trebević Mountain hosted sledding and bob sledding competitions during the Olympics and the ruins of the bob sleds can still be seen today. We then continue to Bjelašnica Mountain, the highest part of the Dinaric Alps, located south of Sarajevo. Bjelašnica Mountain hosted the Alpine skiing competitions during the Olympics and is still a popular recreational centre for the locals all year long. On our way back to Sarajevo, we will stop in the small authentic Bosnian mountain village Umoljan. Overnight stay at the hotel in Sarajevo.

Day 4: Konjic - Blagaj - Mostar

Our first stop of the day is the small town of Konjic. Konjic was never quite fully Herzegovinian, nor quite fully a Bosnian city, but rather a mixture of the two. It was the site of crossroads for different cultures, traditions and religions. We will take a walk through the old town, as well as the city centere which provides you with amazing sceneries of the surrounding countryside. We then continue to Blagaj, a small town, nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage list, is well known for its location at a spring of Buna river and the mystical Dervish Monastery. This 600 years old Sufi monastery, referred to as, is uniquely perched on a 200 metre high cliff that hugs the entire area. Constructed in the classical Baroque style with elements of Ottoman and Mediterranean architecture, the Tekke is one of a kind in the whole country. Last destination of the day is Mostar – a city of "stone on stone". Mostar is the city of contrasts, wide roads, narrow streets, the traditional old bazaar and a contemporary centre. Next to modern edifices there rise the towers of churches and the minarets of mosques. The most magnificent stone monument of Mostar is without a doubt the Old Bridge (Stari Most), listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Overnight stay in Mostar.

Meals: Breakfast

Day 5: Počitelj - Hutovo Blato - Kravice Waterfalls

Today we discover Hercegovina, home of mixed cultures, many natural wonders and rivers rich with water. The medieval fortress village of Počitelj was built on a rocky cliff sloping steeply down to the bank of the river Neretva. Enjoy a walk through the old bazaar and admire the city's historical buildings, which make the village one of the most picture-perfect architectural ensembles in the country. Our next stop is Hutovo Blato Nature Park and bird reserve, a unique sub-Mediterranean swamp with plenty of water and home for hundreds of plant and animal species. Enjoy a private boat ride and admire this unique environment. We then continue to Kravice Waterfalls*, an area full of greenery with chaste trees, poplars and figs all around. Even the tough formations are green with thick lichen, moss and grass. There are hardly any man-made formations near the falls to interfere with the location’s complete natural environment. Return to Mostar for your overnight stay.
