Day 3 (Monday): Gudauri - Kazbegi - Tbilisi
After breakfast at the hotel, start a full day exploration of the Caucasus Mountains. We will reach 2395metres level on the Cross Pass, where we can make several stops to taste mineral waters, as well as to observe waterfalls and snowy peaks of the mountains around. Visit the peak of the Mount Gergeti and the Holy Trinity Church, located above Kazbegi town and under the Kazbegi glacier (5033m) at the same time. Finally, after the trip in the mountains, drive back to Tbilisi in the evening. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Tbilisi - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe
After breakfast, drive towards Samtskhe, passing through Kartli region. Along the way, make several stops in Kartli. First, at Gori town, the heart of the Kartli region and the birthplace of the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Stalin museum in Gori consists of the memorial house with collection of Stalin’s personal belongings. From Gori we head for an excursion in the ancient Uplistsikhe cave complex. Uplistsikhe is one of the oldest rock-hewn urban settlements in Georgia dated back to the 1st millennium BC. The town is cut in rock and has many secret tunnels and passes connecting ancient chambers and halls. Our next stop is at Borjomi, a town famous for its mineral sparkling water. Here we can taste Borjomi mineral sparkling water and take a walk through Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Europe, which covers 5300sq. km. The park is unique because of its wildlife, interesting historic sites and different ecological and geographical zones. In the evening we arrive in Akhaltsikhe. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Akhaltsikhe - Akhaltsikhe Castle - Vardzia - Akhaltsikhe
After breakfast, visit Akhaltsikhe Castle. Rabati Castle is a fortress in Akhaltsikhe, established in the 9th century and later rebuilt by the Ottomans. After the excursion at Rabati Castle, drive to Vardzia. Vardzia, a rock-hewn cave monastery on the left bank of the River Mtkvari, was founded in the 12th -13th c.c., during the reign of Giorgi III and Queen Tamar. Initially planned as a town-fortress, the complex became a well-fortified monastery, which had a significant role in political, cultural, educational and spiritual life of the country. From Vardzia we drive back to Akhaltsikhe. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 6 (Thursday): Akhaltsikhe - Tsalka - Tbilisi
On the final day of the tour, after breakfast at the hotel, depart for Tbilisi. On the drive back to Tbilisi, pass through the Javakheti Plateau. Along the way make several stops at the Alpine Lakes of Sagamo and Paravani, and Tsalka Reservoir. In the evening we arrive in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 7 (Friday): Depart Tbilisi
After breakfast at the hotel, check out by 12:00pm. End of services.
