Day 3: Sospel - Sainte-Agnès
Walking time about 10 kms (4 hrs)
A short taxi transfer takes you to the start of our walk. After a gradual climb through a scenic beech forest the summit appears and perched well over 1000m above the sea the Mediterranean appears in all its majesty, the southern Alps. You reach the perched village of Sainte-Agnès, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, and set at 800m in altitude. It is the highest coastline village in Europe.
Day 4: Sainte-Agnès - Gorbio - Sainte-Agnès
Walking time about 10km (3 hrs 45 mins)
Leaving Sainte-Agnès you climb towards the Col de Bausson pass, through a landscape of wild lavender and with great views behind you of the village. Beyond the pass you enter a valley to the north, and with the highway and bustle of the coastline out of view, you’re left with the wild slopes of pine forest and wildflowers. A steep, zigzagging descent leads you to the village of Gorbio, worth a lengthy visit. On the main square you’ll find two restaurants for lunch, one refined and the other casual. You ret urn to Sainte Agnès along a shorter and easier route the GR 51 with views of the coastline accompanying you along the way.
Day 5: Sainte-Agnès - Menton
Walking time about 14 kms (4 hrs 30 mins)
Once again you leave Sainte-Agnès by foot, and walking along a deep and scenic valley you reach the lost villages of Monti and Castellar. Castellar offers quaint streets & restaurants. You path leads you to the heart of the town of Menton, the prettiest town on the French Riviera with its colourful streets winding around in never ending labyrinths and with several architectural treasures.

Day 6: Villefranche-sur-Mer - St. Jean Cap Ferrat - Villefranche-sur-Mer
Walking time about 11 kms (3 hrs a few short climbs along the coastal path)
After breakfast you take the train with your luggage from Menton to Villefranche-sur-Mer, it’s a short 30 minutes scenic train ride (train ticket at your own expense 4,20€ per person). You leave your luggage at your hotel and start your first walk around the famous St. Jean Cap Ferrat, it’s a beautiful 3 hours coastal walk. You can also add a detour and walk around the Eastern arm of the peninsula, add one hour.
Day 7: Villefranche-sur-Mer - Èze Village- Villefranche-sur-Mer
Walking time about 2 hrs back and forth to Èze
After breakfast you take a 5 minutes short train ride from Villefranche to Èze (tickets at your cost 1,80€). Èze is a medieval village perched like an eagles nest on a narrow rocky peak overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The ancient fortified village is still crowned with the ruins of its 12th century fortified Castle (torn down in 1706), sitting on a narrow rocky peak. The Castle grounds host the well known Jardin Exotique and from the top (429 m) you'll have an good view of the coast. After your walk you take the train back to your hotel (1,80€ per person).
Day 8: Villefranche-sur-Mer
Breakfast at the hotel. End of Services.
