The Tour

Over 900 years of Royal history are waiting for you in Windsor Caslte, which is perched high above the River Thames just outside of London. We shall be amongst the first people to enter Windsor Castle, so you can see for yourself the splendour of St. George's chapel and the sumptuous state apartments. Windsor itself is a pretty town full of traditional shops and historic pubs. Shakespeare is said to have written his play The Merry Wives of Windsor in one of them!. We head to the most famous prehistoric monument in the world, Stonehenge. Now a world heritage site; it's stands alone in the vast empty tract of Salisbury plain and its origins date back nearly 5,000 years and it has been home to pagan religion and spiritual workship. Our final stop is Bath, another world heritage site. Bath is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture. Following our panoramic tour of the city, there will be time to visit Bath Abbey and Poultney Bridge overlooking the river Avon cascading over the weir. You can shop, explore or take afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms while listening to the tring quarter. Your ticket includes entrnace to the Roman Baths that were built nearly 2,000 years ago. Built on Britain's only natural hot water spring lies the magnificent Roman public bath complex and Roman temple. You can walk around the steaming pool on the Roman stone paving and admire the ancient Roman statues and architecture.

The Tour

Leaving Edinburgh, we make our way to the ancient Scottish capital of Stirling, its skyline dominated by its castle and the iconic Wallace Monument. We stop to hear of Scotland's most famous patriot and his part in the medieval Wars of Independence.We drive further into the Highlands with the chance to spot one of Scotland's famous residents 'The Hairy Coo'. We then travel through the scenic beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. We pass the shimmering waters of Loch Earn before stopping for lunch ( not included ) at The Famous Grouse Experience, one of Scotland's most famous whisky distilleries.Having revived ourselves with a wee dram of the 'water of life', we head to the Hermitage in the heart of Perthshire and take a short woodland walk to see the spectacular Black Linn Falls on the River Braan. Our return journey visits the quaint village of Dunkeld, in Macbeth country, whose stunning cathedral sits by the banks of the River Tay. We return to Edinburgh, passing the iconic Forth Bridge on the way.The Famous Grouse Experience is an award-winning whisky distillery and visitor centre ( entrance not included ) .The optional guided tour will give you an insight into how 'uisge beatha' (the 'water of life') is made and takes you on an interactive journey to discover the history behind one of Scotland's most iconic whisky brands.
