If you are visiting Turkey , dont miss the KAPALI CARSI, (GRAND BAZAAR) in Istanbul ; thousands of shops and all the makings of a small town: police station, mosques, restaurants and tea houses. Its an experience not to be missed. Wander through the 'back streets' which sell everyday items (often in wholesale lots). |

If you are traveling to Italy and you would like to visit the lakes area in the north of the country, we suggest you visit Lago di Garda, Lago DIseo and Lago di Como. They are the major lakes and the most are worth seeing. The largest is Lago di Garda and we recommend the Town of Desenzano as a destination for young people and Sirmione for more mature visitors willing to relax. |

The Iceman: Over 5000 years ago, a man climbed up to the icy heights of the Schnalstal glacier and died. He was found by accident in 1991, with his clothes and equipment, mummified and frozen: an archaeological sensation and a unique snapshot of a Copper Age man. He can now be found at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. www.archaeologiemuseum.it |
